In his new role, Samul offers a vision for the innovative college transition program to “throw its doors open” and use it as a resource for community collaboration and program expansion on Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ’s New London campus and beyond.

State Funding to Expand Accessibility to Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ Woods

Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ was recently awarded a $396,960 grant for Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ Woods: Accessibility in Action by the Connecticut Recreational Trails Grant Program through the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP). The project will expand accessibility of Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ Woods to a broad range of users, including college students, seniors, preschool and school-age children, hearing- and sight-impaired individuals, and the greater community.

Congratulations to the Class of 2024

In a year the college is celebrating its 85th anniversary, Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ held its 80th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 11, on the college green with the Thames River as a backdrop. Under sunny skies and surrounded by cheering friends and family, graduates received their diplomas from President Tracy Y. Espy, Ph.D., who conferred 10 associate degrees and 102 bachelor degrees.

Baseball Will Open NCAA Tournament on Friday at Babson Regional

After capturing the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) championship during their inaugural season in the conference, the Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ baseball team earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Baseball Tournament. They will travel to Babson College, which was selected as one of 16 regional hosts, and are scheduled to play Friday, May 17, at 1:30 p.m.

Walk for Suicide Prevention

Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ invites the community to attend A Story Unfinished: Walk for Suicide Prevention on Sunday, April 14, 2024, 11:30 a.m.–3 p.m. Hosted by the Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ Mental Health Club and the Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ Commuter Association, the event raises money for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). Participation is free, but the fundraising goal for the walk is $5,000. The event takes place rain or shine.

Black History Month Event Draws Hundreds

Several hundred attendees converged on the Ã÷ÐǺÚÁÏ campus on Feb. 25 during Black History Month for a community celebration of Black heritage and culture called “Letting OUR Voices Be Heard.” Conceived and organized by first-year student-athlete Inonda Christine Peterson, the event featured dozens of Black performers, artists, businesses and organizations.
